Four sons
This article is about the four sons of Thomas and Lucy Bolitho, it shows the devastating effect that wars can have on one family, even when the
battlefields are thousands of miles away from home.
Thomas Bolitho was born in 1860, in the small Cornish village of Higher Ninnis, the son of second son of Thomas and Mary Bolitho. Employed as a
stone mason, he married Lucy Kendall Anning in the first quarter of 1885. Soon after they married, Thomas and Lucy set sail for a new life
in Australia.
