James Henry Bolitho - Miners son

James Henry Bolitho was born in late 1895, the son of tin miner, Thomas Bolitho and his wife Alice. Thomas came from a mining family and was already working in a mine stamp house, where the ore was broken up, when he was just 11 years old. He would later follow his father down into the mines.
